This quarter I had the honor of working on a project sponsored by chip manufacturer Freescale. Two classes worked together on this project. My class was a group of 6 motivated, creative and energized graduate students.
I am so excited about this work and so hungry to get feedback that I really want to get this material out there as soon as I can. So here goes:
Process Book
Inside the below embedded process book are the details of both the interaction design and the industrial design sides of the project.
Scenario Video
After doing 3 weeks of contextual research, the team drafted up a narrative which was made into a great video prototype/narrative.

We are hungry for feedback so don’t be shy!
Very nice, very nice!
The videos have a good feel – good music, good photos (you seem to have had really close contact with the kid – that’s fortunate), and good discourse. Well made, I think – you can see a lot of effort has been put into it. Maybe a bit optimistic in assuming the device would (or should) be used for everything, and not having any negatives in the scenario.
Wow, I’ve only now seen the slides. That’s some impressive work!

Great stuff! Btw, the videos are easier to understand if you’ve read the context (from Dave’s IXDA post):
“Our classes were sponsored by Freescale (a chip manufacturer) and we were tasked with re-envisioning the smartbook market with a keen eye towards tweens, teens and some adult niche markets.”
My 10 cents (lowest coin value in NZ!): I agree about maybe exploring the whole ‘disclaimer’/'considerations’ part – not necessarily answering problem areas, but maybe flagging them up as areas that might need further exploration. Imagine having a shot of Jacob’s mother catching him Myspacing after bedtime! Portraying some of these situations at the very end would mean that people wouldn’t ask about it.
[...] Adds SCAD professor David Malouf: I wanted to point anyone interested in the full story of this work to check out the student process book, final presentation to Freescale and concept videos all posted here. [...]

I particularly like enjoyed the unique mediums (ie. video / digital process book) to share the project with such a broad audience. Great stuff!
Well, to soon to say if it’s good, but at least it’s well designed.
I mean I thought I would be blocked after adding some interests, but the site helps you to add more.
Cheers
